The guests from Hong Kong Global Geopark visited Sakurajima-Kinkowan Geopark in Kagoshima, Japan

On 10 April, members of Hong Kong Lions Nature Education Foundation who is a significant partner of Hong Kong Global Geopark visited Sakurajima-Kinkowan Geopark in Kagoshima, Japan. Hong Kong Lions Nature Education Foundation enjoyed a tour with explanation of geopark guide at three geo sites and also a geopark activity program named “Digging Foot Spa Activity”.

Digging Foot Spa Activity is one of the geopark activity program which enables to experience a mechanism of geothermal by digging sand beach with shovel and make their own foot spa with hot water heated by magma.

It was a first exchange program of Hong Kong Global Geopark and Sakurajima-Kinkowan Geopark which represented great opportunity to promote geotourism of Sakurajima-Kinkowan Geopark to guests from geopark of overseas.

At night, a meeting was also held by inviting Dr. Yeung who is a head of Hong Kong Global Geopark. Dr. Yeung had a presentation about key concepts of global geopark and afterward had a lively discussion with members of Sakurajima-Kinkowan Geopark about management, science popularization and networking of global geopark.
