A representative of Hong Kong Global Geopark of China was invited to visit three Japanese geoparks, Choshi Geopark, Izu Geopark and Oki Island Global Geopark, where he shared his insights on the management of Hong Kong Global Geopark with local community and geopark managers from 27 July to 5 August 2015.
The Hong Kong Geopark representative said he was honoured to be invited to work with the Japanese geoparks. “The Asia Pacific Geoparks Network is a valuable platform for different geoparks in the region to exchange knowledge and popularize earth science. The interaction with and site visits to the Japanese geoparks, along with the e-classroom conducted with the Hong Kong Geopark team, has deepened our understanding of the Japanese Geoparks Network.”
“The mutual exchange between Hong Kong Geopark and the Japanese geoparks has strengthened the relationship between the two geoparks,” said Mr. Kazuhiro Nobe, Office Head of the Oki Island Global Geopark Promotion Committee. “We look forward to continuing to work with Hong Kong Geopark as partners in the Global Geoparks Network.”
